Image Uploader - New Tour

Non-Techy Explaination of Image Uploader

Once the Image Uploader is displayed, the user has the opportunity to view and select acceptable image files for upload to the tour system. During selection, the user has the opportunity to perform some minor image editing - if necessary. A user can rotate an image, by using the rotate icon displayed during mouse over. And a user can crop an image by using the magnify icon, to display the image, and using the mouse to drag over the area of the image the user wishes to keep. **See rotating and cropping for a more detailed explaination of the use of these tools.

Once the images are selected. The user clicks the Upload button. The uploader looks at each image, and performs several tasks to resize each image to the proper size for a thumbnail and for a tour slide. Finally, the original image itself is copied and uploaded. So, for each image selected, three images are uploaded to the system. A thumbnail, a slide for the tour, and the original image.

The Image Uploader itself, resizes and places the images into the proper folders, and writes this information to the database for use by the virtual tour system.
